Service Event Rules vs Global Event Rules

I’m wondering what is the use case for Global Event Rules vs Service Event Rules. Does anyone have any stories/examples/wisdom about when to choose one or the other?

I’m sure you’ve already figured this out by now, but just in case there is a blurb on our Service Configuration Guide under ’ Common Misconfigurations and Recommended Practices ’ on when to user Global vs Service event rules.
